Gerard Fitremann was born in 1946 in France. Well known for surrealist portraits and landscapes and was a student at the Academy of Liege. He worked alongside Carpentier Kempen. He often participates in exhibitions in Brussels and Liege.
In 1970, he abandoned his role as a master printer to concentrate exclusively on creating his own artwork. He gradually amassed a large body of artwork consisting of etchings, watercolors, and paintings. At first, he exhibited and sold his art primarily in Paris galleries. He built his reputation by exhibiting there but also by exhibiting and selling at International Art Fairs which provided a wider collector base.
