Ira Moskowitz worked primarily on four subject matters, religious Jewish scenes, marriage scenes, floral still lifes and Native American scenes. While in the Southwest he worked as a printmaker. Over 100 of his works of art depicting Native American ceremonies were used to illustrate the book "American Indian Ceremonial Dances" by John Collier. Though he was a printmaker, he created works of art in multiple mediums. He created paintings on canvas, drawings on paper, lithographs, etchings and mixed media on paper.
