The artist is known as an abstract expressionist. She found her true style, confidence and the art world's recognition after Jackson Pollock, her husband's, death. Until then, she had been in his shadow though her talent and creativity was there.
Krasner had been working on paper creations before Pollock died. She had left him with his mistress and went to Europe before he had his car accident. Before she left, she had torn her artwork up into small pieces. When she returned after his death, she started to do collages with these pieces of torn art. These creations had finally been viewed as masterpieces and not seen as a poor imitation of Pollock's artwork.
The "Embrace" is a silkscreen and is two dimensional though it has a three dimensional quality. It is a brighter piece than many of her collages but you can see her collage technique and her thought process. This a very clean, uncluttered, beautiful piece of artwork.
